Welcome to Renewable Power Cameroon
We are a Cameroonian-UK project development company founded in 2025 that has a Vision of
“ending energy poverty in rural Cameroon through small-scale hydropower and solar PV projects”
RPC is developing renewable energy schemes for rural electrification in Cameroon with a first 8.3 MW portfolio of mini-hydropower/solar PV hybrid projects in the Adamaoua Region
We are progressing the following key rural electrification projects in partnership with the Mayors' offices and with the sanction of the Rural Electrification Agency:
Banyo, Adamaoua
RPC is developing a mini-hydro hybrided with a solar PV project of 3.5 MW total capacity to supply the town of Banyo and surrounding villages with the following technical details:
- 1.5 MW mini-hydro at the Tapadje Yayya cascades
- 2.0 MW solar PV plant located 7km outside Banyo
- 3.9 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
- Isolated Grid with 35 km of main 30 kV transmission lines
- Minimum of 50% electrification rate with 65,000 rural customers
Galim Tignere, Adamaoua
RPC is developing a mini-hydro hybrided with a solar PV project of 4.8 MW total capacity to supply the town of Galim Tignere and surrounding villages with interconnection with the northern grid at Tignere with the following technical details:
- 3.0 MW mini-hydro at the Choum waterfall
- 1.8 MW solar PV plant located 1.5km north of Galim Tignere
- 3.3 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
- Interconnected Grid at Tignere with 98 km of main 30 kV transmission lines
- Minimum of 85% electrification rate with 60,000 rural customers
Renewable Power Cameroon identifies potential renewable energy projects and the company's team is then able to undertake the following services to progress projects for investment and subsequent construction:

Feasibility Studies
- Hydrological analysis
- Topographical surveys
- Geo-technical investigations
- Turbine and ancillaries selection
- Initial civil layout designs
- Energy capture analysis
- Environmental surveys
- Social impact assessments

Scheme Design
- Optimisation of scheme layouts
- Civil works design
- Selection of electro-mechanical equipment (turbine-generators)
- Design of hydro-mechanical equipment (gates and screens)
- Detailed design drawings

Hydro and Solar Development
Once all permissions and financing are in place, we can oversee scheme development including:
- Mobilisation of staff and equipment to site
- Contract management using EPC or other forms (e.g. FIDIC)
- Construction of civil works
- Installation of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Commissioning and testing of all electrical and mechanical equipment
- Liaison with grid contractors
- Project hand-over
